We are having a really good time right now.

Since Friday afternoon we are officially “very beautiful”. A big thank you to Beppe Masia for 4th place with Very Good in the open class at the CACIB conformation show and for the detailed report.

Then on Saturday came our first international field trial — and on the third retrieve my young bitch’s inexperience showed. To be precise: I got it wrong, and she trusted me.

Sunday went considerably better: few breaks, many demanding retrieves, two nice dry runs. I am very, very happy. On the fifth retrieve we failed, which is of course frustrating in the moment, because a better result was within reach. But what the little pup showed overall deserved every bit of respect and a “Very Good”, and it makes us very confident about what is ahead.

It is an honour to be allowed to play with the big ones at such a young age. Thank you for that.

Congratulations to Karoline and Philipp. Warm thanks to Ronnie Farrelly and Billy Lundy of Drumgoose Gundogs for their fair judging, and finally to Felix Fritsch for organising the ground.
